Position Title: Store Set-Up Associate (1216)

Reports to (Position Title): Retail Sales Specialist

Location: SSC - Philadelphia, PA

Pay Status: Nonexempt (Hourly)

Schedule: Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting our Store Set-Up teams with the process of completing remodels
  • Make certain that merchandising levels are optimal, inventory control programs are strictly adhered to, pricing modifications are processed timely, and the parts room is maintained to company standards
  • Light to medium labor with regards to the loading and unloading of store fixtures, as well as other general tasks, such as planogram implementation and the stocking of merchandise
  • A project will typically last for approximately 4 to 6 weeks
  • Expected to perform additional related job responsibilities as needed and assigned

Essential Functions

An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Under the direction of the Set-up Coordinator, assists with store merchandising activities, maintains standards of appearance, and coordinates and cooperates with associates in the execution of plan-o-grams, overall product presentation, inventory management, pricing, signage and various product initiatives to enhance the customer experience and maximize inventory turns
  • The loading and unloading of store fixture and merchandise trucks. This requires the knowledge of the proper use of a pallet jack. Lifting and or carrying up to an average of fifty (50) pounds of materials is required. Safety belts and some type of work shoe are required. Pep Boys will supply the safety belts.
  • Assembly of all types of store fixtures including but not limited to: displays, Service Center equipment, and interior signage. This will require some heavy lifting at times, as well as working at extended heights. Ladders are provided for these types of situations. In the event there is this type of work, safety glasses and or any other types of safety equipment, are required in all instances.

Physical Activities

The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of the PIR Associate position.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting
  • Climb up and down ladders to retrieve and stock merchandise
  • Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, or by using telecommunications equipment
  • Enters and locates information on computer
  • Presents information to small and large groups
  • Visually verifies information, often in small print
  • Safely operates a motor vehicle

Typical Work Schedule

Each store remodel takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete depending on type.

Typical work hours are Monday through Saturday from 7:30am to 4:00pm w/ hour lunch. Two (2) ten-minute breaks are allowed, one during the morning shift and one during the afternoon shift. A schedule will be reviewed with everyone on the first day of the project in order to make sure there are no conflicts.

Eligibility Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, embody the competencies listed, and be able to perform the physical requirements of the position listed above. In addition, the following are basic eligibility requirements for the position:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Successful completion of Background and Drug tests
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Related experience in the automotive service environment is also preferred
  • Must have basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions. Ability to apply mathematical formulas to calculate commissions and discounts
